Chapter 6.6 - Slope-Intercept Form

We discussed slope earlier this year in our proportional relationtionship unit.  


Slope tells use how steep a line is.

Slope Intercept Form is an equation of a line written like...

 

y = mx + b

 

m = slope and b = y-intercept

 

If we want to put some numbers to it, it would look like this...

 

y = 5x + 2

 

where 5 represents the slope and 2 represents the y-intercept
