Why do we need to know this???

 

Scientists, mathematicians and business people use this concept to show relationships and to make predictions.  Researchers gather data and plot that data in a scatter plot with a fitted line.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They can then write an equation for this line and use this equation to predict future outcomes.  How much could we expect to sell if we 1,000 customers.

 

We are going to learn how to make predictions like these!
