Two Step Equation
Step 1 - "Undo" term without the variable.
Step 2 - Whatever you did in step 1, do to the other side of the equation.
(Think of an equation as a scale... to keep the equation true, keep the scale balanced.)
Step 3 - Now, "undo" term with the variable.
Step 4 - Whatever you did in step 3, do to the other side of the equation.

Step 5 - Check.
Look at this example below and notice how they followed these steps.
