Chapter 2 Project
Congratulations! You made it through another chapter!
You have three options for the chapter 2 project.
Option A:
Knowledge and fluency of math facts is an important step towards being a successful student. This option is for students who need more time to master those basic facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). You will need to pick an operation, take a pre-test, practice that operation, and then complete a progress test to measure progress for that operation.
Assignment: Math Fluency Plan
Option B:
We encounter percents in the real world while shopping and banking. Get a menu for a restaurant (either online or from Mr. Roth). Create an order for a family of four. Find the total and then add a tax of 7% and a tip of 20%. Find the grand total. Create a poster on a piece of copy paper that shows the name of the restaurant, what you ordered (with prices), the total, the amount of the tax and tip, and the grand total. Make sure the poster is visually pleasing (neat, organized, easy to read).
Want to take it another step? Use a 15% off coupon for the whole family before finding the tax. The tip should then be based on the cost before the coupon.
Option C:
You have your own idea?
Write your proposal, email it to me, and meet with me to finalize your plan.
